How the days run

Every day belongs to one artist.

A new artist arrives each day. They bring their craft to a workshop, and that evening they host the table: a different vegan chef cooks, and the guests are people worth introducing them to. Two weeks of that, one day at a time.

During the day

A workshop, led by that day's artist

Open to everyone staying and to guests who come up for it. Every artist works in their own medium and their own method, so no two days look alike.

In the evening

To Gather Together, hosted by the same artist

A different vegan chef cooks a signature menu. The artist invites people to the table, and we bring the connections we think they should meet: retreat leaders, hoteliers, collectors, curious souls.

At the end

The Open House exhibition

Everything made across the two weeks, shown together in one closing evening: the finished work, the work still drying, and the artists who made it.

Every workshop can be booked on its own. Come for one day or for as many as you like.

The programme

15 to 27 August 2026

Workshops are added as each artist confirms, so it is worth looking again.

A stoneprint by Jyoti Graziano: the face of a carved deity transferred onto a flat stone

Saturday 15 AugustFull day

Sacred Stoneprints and Altar Creation

with Jyoti GrazianoJyoti works with the imagery of the sacred across spiritual traditions.

Learn the technique of transferring an image onto stone, and spend the day making a sacred stone of your own. Together the group builds an altar installation that stays with the residency, and Jyoti gives a talk on what altars have meant across different cultures, and on how to relate to one day to day. Your stone comes home with you at the end of the residency.

The Art of the Heart

with ShankariCacao ceremony and sound healing facilitator.

We welcome you at the pool with a drink, time to arrive, settle into the calm surroundings, and connect with the other participants before the day begins. From there, we move into a sacred cacao ceremony, co-creating a protected, heart-centred space together. From that place of love and presence, colour and painting are invited to flow freely into a collective artwork, held throughout by a live sound healing journey on ancestral instruments. Together, we co-create the very tablecloth that will host the To Gather Together dinners in the days that follow.

Create Your Personal Energy Map

with Erika PribInterdisciplinary artist making symbolic works that bring presence and harmony into a space.

An intuitive collage workshop, where you make a personal energetic map: a visual manifestation of an intention, a vision, or an inner landscape. We begin with a gentle grounding and centering practice, then work with a wide spread of materials, textures and imagery until your own visual language starts to appear. No artistic experience is needed, and you leave with a piece that holds your own direction back to you.

Where art meets nature

An open space that invites us to co-create.Where creativity flourishes into beauty.

A place where creatives meet each other, and where the making of things becomes expansive, fruitful and colourful. Room to co-create, and room to go further into your own craft.

Nestled in the peaceful countryside of Southern Portugal, the Art Space is a house given over to making: artists bring their craft to it, guests sit down at the same table, and the work stays on the walls.

Creativity is supported here through nature, meaningful conversations, nourishing food, movement, culture and genuine human connection. You do not need to be an artist to take part. You only need to want to make something.

05

A growing community

It doesn't end when the residency does. Artists, makers and the people who came to their workshops stay in touch, and the network keeps growing through the editions that follow.

06

The first edition

This is the first time the Art Space has done this. Whatever is made here, and whoever makes it, becomes part of how the place is remembered and what the next edition is built on.

What makes this different

Art is only one part of creativity.

We believe inspiration grows when body, mind and environment are equally nourished. That is why the making here sits alongside good food, movement, long views and the time to use them.

Art. Nature. Well-being. Connection.

The Art Space Residency brings together my greatest passions.

For years I have guided people in reconnecting with themselves through creativity, movement and wellbeing practices. This residency is an invitation to create from a place of presence rather than pressure.

My vision is to build an international community where artists inspire one another while leaving a lasting artistic legacy.

Book a workshop · 15–28 August 2026

Create. Connect. Leave your mark.

Come and make something in the first edition of the Art Space. Pick a day, book a place, and leave with the thing you made and the people you made it with.

Places are intentionally limited, so each workshop stays small enough for the artist to work with everyone in the room.
